As part of the course, once your theory has been completed we will put that knowledge to use and you will have to take a practical assessment. This is a hands-on assessment where you will be observed by an assessor.

During the practical assessment, you will be:

• Learn how to handle and restraint an animal for Microchipping
• Microchipping at least two dogs/cats on the day of your course
  
• Learn how to use a pet microchip scanner and put this to use
• Input microchip information into the database.

On the day, your trainer will teach you everything you need to know about microchipping and assess your theory knowledge by having you sit an exam about the knowledge you have learned. They will also provide you with training on how to use the pet microchip scanner and the Microchip Database Systems & Applications.

For our Microchip Implanter Courses, you will be required to have access to 2 un-microchipped puppies/kittens that you can microchip on the day. Should you not have access to these animals, we can provide them for you but this would incur an extra charge. 

This training will give you all of the information you need to confidently answer all the questions, however, further research to enhance your knowledge on microchipping will further equip you and is highly recommended once you have passed your course.

Once you have successfully completed your Theory & Practical your assessor will issue you with a Certificate of completion which will certify that you are now qualified to Microchip Animals. 

As soon as this has been done, you will be given access to your Implanter Account. This is where you will see all of the Microchips you have implanted, search microchip numbers and also check any commission that is due to you.
